[NGO] How to take a course of Understanding Korean laws

본문

Hello, this is Office of International Affairs of CNU.

OIA has sent an email about “How to take an educational program of Sexual Violence” in May and this email is notification about “How to take a course of Understanding Korean laws.”

As I mentioned in the previous email, the Ministry of Education in Korea officially requested all universities to organize educational programmes of “Prevention of Sexual Violence” and ”Understanding of Korean basic laws“ for international students so that they can settle down into the Korean society well. According to the MoE, Every international student must take the course of Understanding Korean laws once every semester.

In this regards, OIA has upload videos to CNU e-class and all international students can register for the class without any approval to watch the video. Please read the below and find the attachment for your refernce.

* Videos are officially provided by Gwangju Bukbu Police Station.

A. Period of course taking: by the end of August.(August 31st, 2022)

B. How to take: Watching a video through CNU E-class(online)

C. Language of the program: English / Korean / Chinese

(Please choose a language you feel much comfortable. You do not need to take all of them)

D. How long does it take: about 20 minutes

* It only takes 20 minutes to watch the video fully, so do not feel too pressured.

Unless you take the course, you will have some disadvantage such as restriction of participation in programs OIA offers, restrictions on visa documents reception , etc. Therefore, please complete the course before the due date mentioned above.

* OIA will check students’ completion status regularly and will contact students of incompletion separately.

For your information, OIA would like to introduce a link which you can download a PDF file of Korean Laws for International Students which is made by Chungnam National University Law Center.

There are many crimes that you could unintentionally commit because of a lack of basic awareness and knowledge of laws. Therefore, I wish to reiterate that you need to take the course to protect yourself against ignorance.

Thank you very much for your cooperation in advance.
