An important 'event' is not erased or vanished in the finiteness of memory, but continuously dominates the history of our lives. This study is a collective work to reveal how the Jeju 4·3 Uprising and the Gwangju 5·18 Uprising are remembered within the experienced person and reproduced in the form and content in various fields of culture and art.
From a global perspective, Korea's experience of democratization was very unique and dynamic. In both 4·3 and 5·18, relatively strong cultural movement groups existed, and many texts were produced and disseminated.
