This book is the second result of a compilation of papers produced through the research project of <Democracy and Human Rights in Asia> conducted by the May 18 Research Institute of Chonnam National University with support from the National Research Foundation since 2005.
The study on <Democracy and Human Rights in Asia> is largely planned for three phases and nine years, and as of the publication date of 2010, the second phase of the second year project is being carried out, and it is being divided into two detailed tasks.
“Democracy and Human Rights in Asia II: State Violence and Participatory Democracy History and Dynamics”, published this time, consists of 6 papers related to 'Memories, Rituals, and Commemoration', the 3rd year research topic of sub-project 1, stage 1, and sub-task 1 A total of 11 papers, including 5 papers related to the research topic of the 3rd year 'Acceptance and Issues of Participatory Democracy at the National Level' and the research topic of the 2nd Year, 'The Growth of Asian Civil Society and Democratic Politics: History and Structure' was loaded.
